Did you know that the dream of reaching Central America with the gospel began in Costa Rica with two Canadian wives of plantation owners? These women were burdened for the thousands of Spanish-speaking people around them who were living in spiritual darkness. They were moved to pray that God would send labourers into the harvest field in Costa Rica. By 1891 the first CAM missionary family arrived. Now, 122 years later, CAM International of Canada embarks on a new and exciting phase of the journey with Spanish-speakers globally … the second most spoken language in the world!
Effective Tuesday, March 5, 2013
CAM International of Canada becomes Camino Global.
Our commitment to minister in Latin America and Spain remains solid. But now, as believers in these countries rise up to answer the call to mission, Camino Global is journeying with them to the world.
Although the name is changing, the heart of the mission is constant. Becoming Camino Global, we seek to clarify the expanding scope of ministry already at hand and to better present the call to discipleship.
As we embark on this next leg of the journey, we invite you to walk with us on the road to making disciples of Jesus Christ, serving among and with Spanish-speakers globally.
